Ball Joints, part 03
The second piece is fully dried!!! Most of the inside of the socket half has smoothed, however the parts that were overhanging while it was being treated were smoothed only slightly, but the result is still great.

A new batch of ABS has arrived earlier today, so I’ll be printing more joint parts, and hopefully testing a full joint soon.
The Engines, part 02
I’ve finally gotten back to the 3d printed pieces from part 2, and given them a first coat of glossy metallic paint.

The glossiness is hard to see with the lighting I had, but they are actually very shiny now! I’ll hold off on adding wear and secondary colours until the parts are assembled.
Next up, I’ve glued together the 3 pieces of a main engine with some DCM. Hopefully it will hold together ?.

The seam is visible, but DCM is supposed to have fused the two parts together, so it should be rather strong. The complete engine is ~30x10x10 cm. (And yes it will need
Engine Unit Frame, part 02
I’ve also made a bit of progress on the engine unit’s frame. A few more pieces still need to be added, but the main thing now is to reinforce the structure with diagonal segments, since it can get skewed with a bit of force. For now I am still using bolts, which is a bit more forgiving on mistakes, but I hope to get my hands on a rivet gun soon.

Thats it for now!
